About The Role
The Web Designer at BLN24 plays a vital role in shaping the digital presence of federal agencies by designing, developing, and optimizing digital content and user interfaces for government websites and campaign platforms. This position requires a keen eye for design, a strong understanding of web standards, and the ability to create user-centered digital experiences that effectively communicate public health and other critical information. The Web Designer will develop wireframes, page layouts, and visual assets that adhere to federal standards such as the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and Section 508 accessibility requirements. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, communications specialists, and stakeholders, the Web Designer ensures that all digital solutions are visually compelling, functional, and compliant. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful projects in a fast-paced environment, utilizing innovative design tools and techniques to enhance user engagement and accessibility. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently to deliver high-quality web designs that meet federal guidelines and user needs.

- •Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
- •3-5 years of relevant experience in web or digital design
- •Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar design tools
- •Experience designing for federal or public sector websites is preferred
- •Strong understanding of web standards, responsive design, and accessibility requirements
- •Excellent visual communication and user interface design skills
- •Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- •Knowledge of web development basics is a plus but not mandatory
- •Design and develop web page layouts, wireframes, and prototypes using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar
- •Create and optimize visual assets for web use, ensuring responsiveness and accessibility compliance
- •Apply USWDS components and federal design standards to ensure consistency and usability across platforms
- •Collaborate with developers, content creators, and stakeholders to implement and refine design solutions
- •Analyze web metrics and user feedback to identify areas for improvement in layout, navigation, and content presentation
- •Ensure all designs meet Section 508 accessibility standards and federal usability guidelines
- •Maintain consistency in visual branding and adhere to agency-specific guidelines
- •Stay updated with the latest web design trends, tools, and federal standards to continuously improve design quality
