About The Role
We are seeking a talented UI/UX Designer who also possesses strong front-end development skills to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming user research insights into engaging, accessible, and functional digital interfaces. You will be responsible for designing intuitive user experiences, creating wireframes and prototypes in Figma, and translating those designs into production-ready React components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Your work will support the integration of complex data visualizations, dashboards, and knowledge graphs within our AI-driven platform, ensuring that every interface is accessible, user-friendly, and aligned with federal standards such as USWDS. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, participate in usability testing, and continuously iterate on designs based on real user feedback. - •Portfolio demonstrating both design thinking and front-end development skills
- •Proficiency in building responsive, accessible interfaces in React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- •Strong experience with Figma and other design collaboration tools such as Mural or Dovetail
- •Knowledge of human-centered design principles, including user research, usability testing, and prototyping
- •Understanding of accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG 2.0 A & AA) from the outset of design
- •Experience working with the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) or similar government/enterprise design systems
- •Empathy and user-focused mindset in designing solutions for diverse audiences
- •Excellent communication skills and ability to incorporate feedback gracefully
- •Experience with data-heavy or AI-driven products such as dashboards or knowledge tools (preferred)
- •Federal or civic-tech experience is a plus
- •Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
- •Must be able to pass a background investigation
- •Translate research insights into compelling and accessible design solutions, including user interviews, personas, and customer journey maps
- •Create wireframes, prototypes, and detailed UI designs in Figma that support seamless user experiences
- •Implement front-end components in React, ensuring designs are accurately built and optimized for performance
- •Develop interactive dashboards, data visualizations, and knowledge explorers that simplify complex information
- •Ensure all interfaces meet Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 standards, prioritizing accessibility for all users
- •Advocate for the U.S. Web Design System and federal design standards to maintain consistency and quality
- •Conduct usability testing, gather feedback, and iterate on designs to enhance user satisfaction
- •Organize information architecture to facilitate intuitive navigation and content discovery
- •Instrument and analyze web analytics data to identify areas for improvement and optimize user flows
- •Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, shipped solutions
