About The Role
We are seeking a talented UX Designer to join our team working on the innovative "Sharpen" platform. In this remote role, you will be instrumental in designing user-centric, accessible, and engaging digital experiences that serve both individual learners and educational institutions. Your work will directly influence how users interact with our solutions, helping to redefine education technology and improve learning outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for innovation, a strong understanding of UX principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively within agile teams. This position requires approximately 10-15% travel throughout the year and is open to applicants authorized to work within the United States.

- •BA/BFA degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or related field
- •3-5+ years of UX design experience, particularly in developing complex digital solutions for web and mobile platforms
- •Portfolio demonstrating previous UX design projects (applications without a portfolio will not be considered)
- •Proficiency in UX design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud
- •Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
- •Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for inclusive design
- •Understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript is preferred but not mandatory
- •Experience in EdTech or designing solutions for digital environments is a plus
- •Self-driven, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- •Collaborate with agile teams to develop mockups, prototypes, and detailed specifications for developers to ensure accurate implementation
- •Utilize and contribute to McGraw Hill’s design system to maintain consistency across all digital products
- •Partner with user researchers to conduct studies, gather insights, and iterate designs based on user feedback
- •Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to keep McGraw Hill at the forefront of innovation
- •Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the design team
- •Ensure all designs adhere to accessibility standards and promote inclusive user experiences
- •Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and stakeholder presentations to communicate design concepts effectively
