Oxford Solutions is working with a retail client seeking a Principal Product Designer for a remote contract role supporting a high-visibility eCommerce portfolio. This role will contribute across the full digital customer journey, including search, product discovery, product detail pages, cart, checkout, and post-purchase experiences. This is a strong opportunity for a senior-level product designer who can move across strategy, research, visual design, facilitation, and execution. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with deep eCommerce experience, strong human-centered design skills, and the ability to bring structure to complex or ambiguous product challenges. Responsibilities Lead design work across key eCommerce experiences, from discovery through launch and optimization Partner closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other designers to deliver customer-focused digital experiences Use human-centered design methods to understand customer needs, define problems, and shape product direction Create journey maps, flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that support end-to-end customer experiences Conduct or support user research, usability testing, prototype testing, A/B testing, and other validation methods Use qualitative and quantitative insights to inform design decisions and reduce customer and business risk Facilitate workshops, design reviews, and stakeholder discussions to drive alignment across teams Contribute to short- and long-term design strategy for complex product initiatives Work within an established design system and collaborate with engineering teams through development and launch Qualifications 7+ years of product design, UX design, or digital experience design experience Strong background designing eCommerce, retail, or consumer-facing digital experiences Experience working across the full product design process, including research, concept development, execution, testing, and production support Portfolio demonstrating human-centered design, end-to-end product thinking, visual design strength, and shipped digital work Ability to break down complex or ambiguous requests into clear, actionable design plans Experience creating journey maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished interface designs Strong understanding of research methods, usability testing, experimentation, and data-informed design Experience working with design systems and partnering closely with software engineering teams Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills Ability to influence cross-functional teams and leadership without formal authority Understanding of software development lifecycles and agile product environments Principal Product Designer – eCommerce - 26-00364 IND123
