Overview Lead Healthcare Experience Designer Location: Remote - US Work Model: Remote About the Role Hyland is building the future of intelligent enterprise software, turning unstructured data into valuable insights using AI. As a Lead Healthcare Experience Designer, you'll dramatically influence our healthcare portfolio across back office, payer, clinical, and enterprise imaging and radiology. This role is remote-first with morning availability starting at 8 AM Eastern for collaboration with European and Indian colleagues, and requires occasional travel to Cleveland or Europe. Here's What You'll Do Partner with senior leaders to shape platform direction, prioritize work, and align design decisions around short and long-term outcomes; collaborate to lead product discovery alongside cross-functional stakeholders, identifying gaps in understanding, strategizing activities to gain clarity, and building consensus Work closely with product and engineering to build alignment, translate ambiguity into clear direction, and make smart tradeoffs that address user needs and total cost of ownership; pair with researchers to translate user insights into journey maps, stories, flows, concepts, and interactive prototypes Design scalable systems by creating patterns, workflows, and interaction models that hold up across teams, products, roles, and edge cases; apply and contribute to the design system by evolving the component library, patterns, and usage rules with design system partners and leadership Drive accessibility as a first-class requirement by ensuring experiences meet WCAG 2.2 AA; build responsive, accessible layouts for complex tasks and dense data including tables, forms, dashboards, search, and settings Enable delivery with strong specs by providing annotated design specifications and documentation that detail interaction behaviors and acceptance criteria for developers; follow Hyland privacy, information security, and AI guidelines in all design work Lead critiques, mentor and coach others, and model inclusive, constructive collaboration; help teams deliver high-quality, consistent, easy-to-use experiences through shared best practices Technology Tools Figma Material Design 3 Angular Material Role Essentials 5+ years of proven product design experience delivering complex enterprise software with consumer-grade usability and polish, backed by strong examples of shipped work and evidence of impact Accessibility expertise with proven delivery of products meeting WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 AA success criteria, including responsive reflow considerations and collaboration with accessibility specialists Design system fluency with experience applying and extending a component system, ideally with Material Design 3 and/or Angular Material, with strong judgment around component use, consistency, and scalability Strong product judgment with a proven ability to navigate tradeoffs and avoid over-designed solutions, delivering experiences that are scalable, supportable, and efficient to build Execution excellence with proficiency in Figma and a track record of producing interactive prototypes and clear specs that enable testing, buy-in, and ease of implementation within Agile product delivery teams What We'd Like to See Experience designing AI-enabled products or model-driven experiences, with an understanding of key considerations like transparency, control, safety, bias, and quality Platform and systems design experience with shared capabilities or design patterns used across multiple products, teams, or portals Experience leveraging AI in the design process to amplify effort and accelerate delivery Research-informed practice with skills in translating qualitative and quantitative insights into flows, prototypes, and iterative improvements Proven ability to facilitate workshops and present design direction to audiences spanning product, engineering, and senior leadership, aligning challenges, tradeoffs, and a path to delivery Pay Transparency The salary range for this role is $170,000 – $180,000 . The listed salary range represents a good faith estimate at the time of posting. The listed range may be adjusted in the future based on business needs. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Professional portfolio that demonstrates both pragmatic and creative thinking including the ability to work within constraints, shifting schedules and priorities Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools Proven experience creating high-quality and effective design artifacts including concepts, journeys, storyboards, user flows, wireframes and prototypes Experience with responsive, mobile and product design Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices Demonstrated success collaborating with developers, product owners, and executive leadership in defining and designing portfolio vision and strategy Experience working across teams to integrate feedback and input from diverse stakeholders (product managers, engineers, customers, and other stakeholders) Experience leading a team of designers in projects that span the complete product design and development lifecycle Experience leading design activities within an Agile product delivery methodology Extensive design strategy and thought leadership experience Experience shaping a design practice in an organization, including establishment of processes, influencing organizational structure, and defining the strategic role design plays in achieving business goals Excellent oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with executive presence Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills, applied successfully within team as well as with all levels of employees in other areas, customers, and executives Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills Excellent leadership, sound judgement, and business acumen skills Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative team environment Ability to work efficiently and independently on one or more projects, often with ambiguity, constraints of time and scope, and technical complexity Ability to support work verbally and visually with design rationale, data and/or user research Ability to introduce new industry-leading design approaches and methods that drive positive outcomes (efficiency, speed to market, innovation, etc.) Ability to provide guidance and support to developing team members Ability to effectively collaborate with senior leadership across the organization to understand and influence product vision and strategy Up to 20% travel time required
