The Role An Experience Designer crafts immersive and engaging experiences that connect people with environments, events, and interactions, focusing on how these experiences feel and unfold over time. This role involves understanding the needs and emotions of participants through research and testing, and collaborating with various stakeholders to bring these experiences to life. By considering the emotional, social, and sensory aspects of an experience, Experience Designers aim to create memorable and impactful moments that leave lasting impressions. As an Associate Director of Experience Design at Kyndryl Vital US, you will lead the overall design vision for complex client projects, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-impact design solutions. You will develop design strategies that align with customer business goals and integrate them into broader technology and innovation strategies. You will manage and mentor junior design team members, providing coaching and guidance to elevate team skills and performance. You will build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, ensuring that the design direction is in line with their strategic vision. You will drive design thinking across the organization, advocating for the integration of design principles in all stages of project delivery. You will shape organizational strategy for AI adoption in design, influencing process and culture. You’ll ensure design teams are proficient in AI and understand its ethical implications, guiding the development of frameworks for human/AI interaction and prioritizing human-in-the-loop. You’ll advocate for responsible AI use in client engagements and internal practices, empowering others to excel in AI-driven design by setting clear standards and fostering a culture of continuous learning and adoption. Who You Are Required Technical and Professional Expertise Human-Centered Design : You have a deep understanding of human-centered design methods and mindset. Co-Creation : You excel at aligning stakeholders through workshops and collaborative sessions. Storytelling : You can communicate clearly and compellingly. User Research : You can design and conduct generative and evaluative user research. Prototyping : You can create context-appropriate, low-to-high fidelity prototypes. Visual Communication : You have expertise in information design. AI and Data Ethics : You leverage AI tools while maintaining quality and ethical standards. Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise 10+ years experience Deep industry vertical experience Experience in both enterprise and agency worlds Knowledge and experience in IT infrastructure or other technical applications Human behavior, change management, or other applied social sciences Data science, AI/ML background You may specialize more deeply in: Service Design User Experience Interface Design Information Architecture Graphic Design Environmental Design Data Visualization Required Education Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent portfolio Preferred Education MDM, MDes, MFA, dMBA or equivalent Location Fully Remote Country/Region USA The base compensation range for the position in the U.S. is -$143,640 to $273,000based on a full-time schedule reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Kyndryl, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. Your actual compensation may vary depending on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction, including, but not limited to, geography, relevant job-related skills, education and experience, certification and licenses, internal pay equity, and market and business consideration. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement. There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations: California (San Francisco Bay Area):$172,440to$327,600 California (All Other):$158,040to$300,360 Colorado: $143,640to$273,000 Massachusetts/ Virginia:$143,640to$300,360 New York City: $172,440to$327,600 Washington: $158,040to$300,360 Washington DC:$158,040to$300,360 This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
